Kim Sutton has been an elementary educator for more than 40 years, having taught primary, intermediate, and upper grades. Kim has won many honors and had many exciting experiences: • Mentor Teacher in Mathematics and Science • Finalist for the Presidential Award as “Math Teacher of the Year” • Selected for Curriculum Implementation Center for Mathematics and the California Mathematics Initiative • Math Consultant for Humboldt County Office of Education • Taught courses for Fresno Pacific College, Humboldt State University, and Portland State University • Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education from Fresno Pacific College • Former Assistant Director of Project AIMS • Authored articles on Pattern Blocks, Classroom Management, and Algebraic Thinking • Developed “hands on” activities for students in mathematics and science • Author of Math Choices, Math Engineers, Math Focus Activities, Visual Tools, Number Line Workbook, Making Math Books with Children, Place Value with Pizzazz, The Powerful Numbers 0-100, Dynamic Dice, Do The Math , Math Drills to Thrills with the Random Number CD, The Power of Digital Root, Let’s Get Started, Bump It!, Fractions: A Part of the Whole, All Aboard the Algebra Express, Dazzling Dominoes, and her newest book, Cooking Up Math Concentration! Kim has inserviced thousands of teachers in the last thirty years in California and cities such as: New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, St. Louis, Las Vegas, Portland, Lansing, Kansas City, Denver, Phoenix, Charleston, Atlanta, Hartford, Cincinnati, Jackson, Little Rock, and San Diego.
