Field experience associates from the University of Alberta will provide the audience with information and self-reflection opportunities regarding: Reasons to be a mentor teacher and how this can create a better understanding of the new TQS and teacher practice Suggestions, anecdotes, and evidence of how to capture evidence of meeting the indicators of the TQS What student teachers can offer mentor teachers in meeting the indicators of the new TQS, particularly competency 5. At the end of the session, mentor teachers, school coordinators, and principals be able to articulate how mentoring a student teacher will support their journey in integrating the new TQS into their own practice and into the larger learning community.
