15 Games to Address Students' Developmental Needs

This session is practical and active: We will work through 15 games and identify the skills each one teaches. Social and active play is critical for a child's development, and play has the potential to address many of the difficulties in a child's life. You can facilitate simple games to address students' social and emotional developmental needs (that range from the need for social participation skills to self-regulation assets). Many students still need to be taught how to play. Let's do that together! These games require no purchases and are easy to replicate using stuff you probably have lying around your classroom. Each game can be modified for children aged K-12 (yes, even grade 12s) depending on their unique needs. (Plus, these are all useful for indoor recess.)
