Creativity in the Classroom

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Have you ever wondered what, exactly, creativity is? Have you been thinking about how best to encourage students to develop their creativity? And what about assessment of creativity? This session will examine the nature of creativity and the creative process and discuss how to foster it in your students. Any professionals seeking to encourage creative development are encouraged to attend. The Ministerial Order for Education from 2013 calls for students to be engaged, ethical, and entrepreneurial learners. Creativity is a prerequisite for these competencies to be developed. Proponents of 21 century learning list creativity as one of the essential skills that young people will require to be successful in a post-industrial world. This session is most relevant to the fine arts however any discipline is encouraged to attend; we need our scientists and engineers to be flexible and creative thinkers as well!
