The Alberta Diploma Exams use a team of teachers and experts to critically analyze each possible question BEFORE it gets published as an exam. Since we can't hope to do that as teachers, we have no way of improving our assessments without some help. SmarterMarks can help teachers make discerning choices about when it's a good idea to omit a question that's too hard vs. keeping a hard question because it's fair. SmarterMarks puts quantitative data at your disposal and can help you improve your test questions. There is also a feature that allows you to store individual questions in a data bank and accumulate more specific data; I will NOT be covering that. *I should note that I do NOT work for SmarterMarks, nor do I receive any compensation for this workshop from its owner. However, I did email them to tell them I would like to do this and they gave their consent freely. I'm just a fan :)
