This Cognitive Ability Patterning (CAP) strategy is useful for all students, and particularly those experiencing difficulties learning word wall words, spelling, and math facts. CAP is a simple and very effective learning technique that places information like spelling words, word wall, and math facts in the student's long term memory without the struggle. When students learn the CAP strategy, success happens quickly. Learning becomes easy. Students become more independent as they apply the CAP process to the these areas of learning on their own or in partners. Now is the time to share the technique with those students that are working hard to learn; show them CAP to make learning easy and efficient; to work smarter not harder.
