Small group instruction through a guided math framework has positively impacted our teaching practice and student learning. Whether it is set up as learning centers, workstations, or just a list of weekly activities, having students engaged in meaningful, engaging mathematical activities while you work with small groups is amazing. It allows you to connect with students, identify issues, and give them a safe space and time to ask questions and make mistakes. And some brief anecdotal notes from these times make assessment and reporting easier. We'll also talk about how to incorporate activities to foster a positive mathematical mindset.
