This 3 hour session will introduce you to the science of air quality and offer ways of bringing this important topic into your classroom through hands-on activities and inquiry-based experimentation. We will learn about common air pollutants, their impact on our health and the environment, how we can measure and monitor air pollution, and where we can find reliable air quality data for Alberta. Workshop participants will receive several free resources including a series of air quality lesson plans, a PocketLab Air sensor (up to $300 value), materials lists for all activities, teacher's resources, and much more! Come learn how these resources can be applied in your classroom in support of the Alberta science curriculum for grades 4, 7, 9, and Science 30.
