Karen always felt something was missing in her writing program. When she brought freewriting into the classroom, it was a game changer. Students became more engaged, the quality of writing improved, and the reluctance to write was greatly reduced. Karen uses freewriting as a foundation for teaching skills and also as a way for students make connections, think critically, and construct meaning in all areas of the curriculum. This method of writing becomes especially relevant as we move towards a concept-based curriculum. Leave this session inspired to teach writing in your classroom!
