Anxiety and depression are increasingly prevalent in youth and adult populations throughout Canada. There is data showing that mental health conditions are multi-faceted in nature. Going beyond the brain, we look at the digestive system, stress hormone, sleep, blood sugar management and more to explore the connection between mental wellness and physical health. Understanding the natural rhythm of the body’s hormones can improve concentration, energy and focus throughout the day. Optimizing nutrition and digestion can help reduce anxiety, improve mood and keep the brain functioning well. In this session we will also address behavioural and mindfulness tools that can impact the brain. Participants will leave this session with functional strategies to reduce stress, anxiety and depression so they can lead a vibrant and energized life everyday.
